Woven Memory
For this year’s Magis Puppy Design Challenge at Saturday Indesign, P3 Senior Designer Carina Brezeanu transformed an icon of Italian design through another. The result was INTRECCIO, a tactile expression of memory, protection and love.
INTRECCIO
The Magis Puppy Design Challenge brought together fifteen leading design practices to reimagine Eero Aarnio’s iconic Puppy, transforming its playful form into a canvas for creative expression while raising more than $3,500 for Sydney Dogs & Cats Home.
Carin’s response, INTRECCIO, meaning interweaving in Italian, began with a very personal story.
Titled WOVEN MEMORY, the concept draws on deconstructed Missoni towels, once loved, and relentlessly stolen, by a much-loved real-life puppy. Rather than discard them, the fabric was given another life, handwoven around the Puppy to create a tactile armour of colour, texture and memory.
Another Life
The transformation brings together two icons of Italian design, Magis and Missoni, while exploring ideas that extend beyond the object itself.
Through reuse, something familiar becomes something new. Material carries memory. Softness becomes protection. An everyday object associated with one puppy becomes a gesture of care towards others still waiting for safety and a home.
It’s a small expression of something we believe strongly at Studio P3: that design has the capacity to give materials another life, tell stories and create connection.
INTRECCIO is woven from memory, made with love and created for a very good cause.
The challenge formed part of 2026 Saturday Indesign, with funds raised supporting Sydney Dogs & Cats Home and the important work they do providing care and shelter for animals in need.
